I would definetly try, it's a nice setup. Do the wiring solid and it might be ok.

yea thats what i thought and if its to much for my system i can aways go down to 2 ohms instead of 1 ohm but i was seeing if i would be ok with useing 4 gauge wire for the big three

4 gauge wire for the big three is perfectly fine.

I did the big 3 with 4 awg wire and my stock alt is 130 amps. My Hifonics Titan amp is supposed to do 1500 watts at 1 ohm, my lights just dim slightly under heavy bass notes. You should be fine, at least try it out first before spend the cash on a new alt.

ok good cause that 0 gauge wire is like 5 times more expensive then the 4 gauge wire

but I did run 0 guage from the battery back to the amps, which is about 18 feet. the big 3 was 4 gauge.

1600 watts is going to want some serious juice, i would do 1/0 gauge wherever possible. Your gonna need all the help you can get. Even if your car has a big alternator, unless it was changed, it will only have enough power for the car, the manufacturers won't put more than is needed to run the car so you will be pushing it.

I just made a small upgrade in the back to some 1/0 gauge and the few pieces i changed made a huge difference. Now i can play like 8 songs cranked before both batteries start dying, where before i could only play like 2 songs when it was 4 gauge in the back connections. It's like getting free extra power!
The 4 gauge i have going to the back will soon be changed to 0 gauge also. My car originally had a 70 amp alternator and i upgraded to a 130 when i got the car. Trying to make it work lol.

ok I looked at your photos, 96 Taurus. That was our first Taurus, Had Orion Extreme 6.5 comp in the front doors and I think Fosgate 6x8 in the rears with a Lightning Audio 4 channel amp. Mtx thunder 2100 pushing 1 12 inch Boston pro sub, Panasonic HU. Pretty loud but those Orions sounded a lot better than I thought they would. Wife got ran over by a semi truck than hit by a dodge ram on the 605 freeway. Everyone survived without a scratch so she wanted another Taurus. She still drives a 2000 Taurus with 110,000 miles. They jacked everything in the car when it went into impound, all they left was the Boston pro, go figure the easiest thing to steal and they left it behind.

Is That Orion amp is that power hungry that you need 2 batteries, man whats the fuse rating on that beast??

yea but iam gonna have to try and make the 4 gauge work cuz the 0 gauge is to much money for me right now unless you can find me some good 0 gauge for abou the same price as 4 gauge or like around $50 or $60
