Just wondering how loud you are going to listen to this monster combo?? Are you going to do spl comps?? That Earthquake amp will ask for a ton of amps when its cranked, but for everyday listening you could probably get away with the big 3 and a good optima battery. At least try it out first before you spend the $$$ on a alternator, if your battery is dead or lights dimming like crazy then go for the alternator, but id at least hook it up first and see what happens.

I would upgrade the alternator first before another battery or a bigger one for now and do the big 3 in 0 gauge. The run from the alternator to the battery can be 4 gauge. (CHARGING WIRE)

My guess is that amp is going to pull about 150 amps at the most, so a 200 amp alternator with the big 3 should be ok. Don't do anything with the battery, you might be able to save some cash. Try it first then you can see what's happening.

Just don't be cranking it if you see your lights are dimming lol, that's not good for the amp.

I'd tell you to get maybe a 250 amp alternator but i'm trying to save you some cash lol, because a 200 amp alternator only actually puts out about 105 amps at idle. But anything over 200 amps for an alternator it seems like the price doubles. Maybe someone else knows for sure on this earthquakes power needs, i'm just guessing as best i can lol, based on my orion amp. But definetly i would do alternator and big 3 first.

One more thing lol, the run from your front battery to the trunk-your amp has to be 0 gauge for this or you will definetly have problems, that's a long run of wire, you don't wan't to be wasting any power because your wire is too thin!! Bigger wire has less resistance which equals more power to your amp lol.

well i have an audi which is German made and the battery is under the back seat so its easy to hook up the amp and stuff to the battery its the alt that is harder to run stuff to

I'd grab this first lol, it's not the pro but still a beast and the cones are easily replaceble on the spot if you need to.

    Cerwin Vega Stroker 124 Subwoofers

And that hifonics amp, the one that put out 1700 rms at 1 ohm and you can still do the big 3 in 0 gauge and see how it is. I don't think you will need a second battery for your car if it's in the back already, close to the amp.

Actually it would be the 122 you want, dual 2 ohm so you can run it at 1 ohm

ROCKFORD FOSGATE PUNCH150 LIMITED EDITION PUNCH AMP*NEW - eBay (item 110225771324 end time Feb-25-08 17:10:40 PST)

this amp is closer to 500 than the 180 rated, and you wont need any extra batts or an alt upgrade.i do recomend the BIG3.

    NEW Rockford Fosgate Punch P550.2 550W 2-Channel Amp - eBay (item 270213125223 end time Feb-25-08 17:33:19 PST)

this will work too. for the most power out either run 1 sub at 4 ohm mono.
or 2 2 ohm subs.one per ch to getthe most out of it.
