You'll prolly only need one sheet...I'll make up the cut sheet for you after I get off work today

    MDF comes in 49" x 97" sheets

I always get my wood from Lowes

    This is for your L7s

This video may help you a lil with the assembly part.

ICIXSound.com - Another installment in the Elemental Designs tutorials. How to build a speaker or subwoofer box.

I always use the rule of 4 inches apart for the screws...predrill and screw. And drill and screw at least 1.5-2 inches away from the ends to prevent splitting.

here is a video on how to carpet

Yeah saw the video on how to carpet the box. I was bored and checkin out roe stickies. How much will this end up costing me? Wow never realized that I dont have a lowes in my big town around here. What about the home depot? I might just go to the lowes anyways its only 1 hour 20 mins away from my big town and I basically take one road.

home depot has 4x8 sheets of MDF also...but they won't cut it for your for free....last time I was there was a few years ago and they charged like 17 cents PER CUT lol....so I never go there.

Here in Evansville, IN....at any time any day of the week...there are about 20 times more people at Lowes than Home Depot lol

ok i found a friend who works at a cabinet place so i can get a sheet of mdf there and they will do the cuts for me..im wondering what a flaired port is...is it just that curve in the front. if its only that it seems easy from the roe sticky...you just set up your table saw and then all you have to do is move the wood up and down correct?

Well since azn is in Florida i guess he wont be giving me a cut sheet but i was wondering if this is what he was gonna give me. I did my own measurements and this is what i got from this pic
    [IMG]
    TOP 36*23
    BOTTOM 36*23
    LEFT 23*13
    RIGHT 23*13
    BACK 36*13
    BAFFLE/PORT 51*13

I added 2 inches to the baffle/port because i will be doing the flair port. Does this sound right? I might be able to get this cut tomorrow maybe if i can get this confirmed that i did this correctly. I will also only need 1 yard of carpet?
This is what the box is gonna look like somewhat
    [IMG]
BUT with these EXACT COLORS and i have the 06 black colored kickers
    [IMG]
so as soon as somebody looks at the measurements ill get this cut tomorrow.

    Sorry...here it is

    Top - 36" x 23"
    Bottom - 36" x 23"
    Left Side - 23" x 13"
    Right Side - 23" x 13"
    Port - 17" x 13"
    Baffle - 29.75" x 13"

A flared port will not always benefit....it can hurt as well as gain

This port is big enough that port noise is not a question at all...If you want to make a flared port than draw out the flare on the bottom board and measure the outside line for the total board length...practice practice practice for the flares...the number of cuts and how deep the cuts are depends on the wood quality and density

Painting the port black will make it look better. Damn that is one sexy pic...I love seeing a nice sheet of MDF.

Well you will need more than one yard of carpet...not sure how much but I can tell you that tomorrow...I'm kinda tired lol
