It does look nice, why are you only gonna feed it 200 watts? I mean if the L7 got 580watts. It'll probably sound good with both wattages.
i'm sure thats until he gets it all finished.so he can put in the monster.lol BTW i got the cat installed on wed.it runs sooooo much better now.there was onlly 3 fist sized pieces of the cat left. how soon before it will be done?
Yes, i have the orion for it, so it will be getting about 900 watts, just testing, and seeing what will fit and work with the car, i think i hit it dead on!! It sounds amazing. And i'm still going to have my trunkspace and be able to get at the spare tire when i need to. I'm very happy with what i have now. I just need to get a couple cans of fiberglass and i can go further. Kinda hurtin for cash and i'm going on a trip so it may be awhile before more gets done. Nice to have a new catalytic pedro, will probably save you some gas too. I still have yet to change my front wheel bearing.
azn and i have worked out the box size for two 19Ov.2s and we found out that they want the largest box possible, so go for the biggest one u can.
Yes, well i'm using my trunk as the box, not sure on the cubic feet it would be, i'm thinking it's at least 5 or 6 cubic feet. Once that board is sealed in will try a couple ports. One thing the trunk has to be closed lol, otherwise it's like free air design. Bassbox is telling me i can go up to 7 cubic feet and it will be no problem for the sub.
How you gon add ports? first thing I'm thinkin about is seein your car with drill holes coming out of the trunk.
They would be just going through the faceplate board and just like suspended in the trunk area, so the ports will be pushing air through to the front of my car, behind the back seat. I will make them removable in case i have to use the trunk for something.
hahahahehehewoooooooooo, i finally hooked up my orion hcca 2100 amplifier to the 18" elemental designs sub, set the gain a little more than 3/4 drove around for a while going through some songs and i'm thinking well it sounds very nice musically but where's the power? Then i remembered the bridge button haha, hooooooooolllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy cccccccccrrrrraaaaaaaaapppppppppp, I'm very impressed, it's perfect for me. Drove around for about another hour, my deck goes to 61 i think, started out around 28-30 on the deck with the bass completely down in the eq and it kicks ass haha. The bass boost on the amp is off no need for that, so i get up to about 38-42 on the volume lol and she went down. I'm hoping it's the fuses in the amp will check tonight or tommorow, it's not the 80 amp fuse at the battery. There are two 40 amp fuses in the amp and an 80 amp at the battery, sooo...I was thinking to up the fuses in the orion to two 60's and keep the 80 amp fuse at the battery, that way when it blows it will go at the battery instead of the amp which is a pain to change them Yes? Thanks all for all your help you guys kick ass. Viking Azn Ranger Pedro
sweeeeeet!! maybe a video is in order. hows about dropping the gain.that might help a little. pics of it all.front,back. and a video!!!!!
OK..... Here is what the mono button does on that amp....it simply sums the input signal to the amp...nothing more. Now, as for the fuses......You CAN do what you are thinking of....BUT.......that means the internals of the amp will be able to to draw excessive current on each half of the power supply, up to 60 amps......They were not designed for that.....If you want the amp to live for a long time.........DONT do it!
I got it last week or the week before i think, have been just running it on the 100 watt amp until now. That sub is frigin sick and it loves the orion. Will try and take a few pics tonight, am going up north for a week and will probably fiberglass the whole board to the trunk while i'm there. to seal it from the front of the car. Viking, i did it already!! lol it was two 30 amp fuses that blew in the amp not 40, it calls for 30 amp, i put two 60's now in the amp but an 80 amp fuse is at the battery. So i didn't have 50 amp fuses which is what i want so it could only draw 100 amps at the back but the front battery fuse is still 80 so it won't get more than 80 yes? I don't have the second battery yet.
Oh ya Azn, There is a dealer in Canada , i ordered the sub late friday night and got it the next tuesday. Was about 320.00 canadian i think. Well worth the money.
I'm pushing it in a temp 2.5 cu ft sealed box for now...it pounds pretty good. takes 1200watts + daily no problem
Sweet, well i'm using my trunk as the box so i'm thinking it's around 7 cubic feet sealed, when i do end up sealing it. You got me worried about the amp now viking, i see what your saying about each side drawing that much. Ok....How about two 40's and 70 or 75 amp fuse at the front? I want it to blow at the front fuse is what i'm trying to get so i can just pop the hood and replace the fuse in two seconds instead of unmounting the amp to get at those fuses every time.. When i got the orion it did have two 80's in it!
