    My transmission crapped out in my car so i'm done with it. I give up. Time for something else. This is not the exact car i might get but it's the same year and color. 1998 Chevy Lumina

    i like those luminas, they look just like the monte carlos just with another door. you should put some monte carlo emblems on it just to confuse people lol. put like the ss emblem on the trunk and stuff lol. but good luck.

    Well, they canceled the auction because no one showed up lol, small town. But i still might get it, offered her $1000.00, it needs the dual exhaust replaced which is galvanized metal and a little pricey and possibly the rear calipers which have the abs and emergency brake built in so will be pricey too. Other than that it is owned by an older lady, she bought it brand new and was the only driver. It has 159,000 KM on it and has 16" machine faced aluminum rims with sport tires 60 series wohooo. This is actually a really nice car because it's the LTZ Lumina it comes with 3.8, 3800 series II L36 engine, leather seats, power everything, remote keyless entry, all the goodies. Bluebook value in fair condition is like $2200.00 originally listed for $22,000.00 new. I'm pretty sure that's the engine it has, my dad is dealing with her since hes up north where the car is. He says it has a plastic cover over the whole engine and says 3800 on it. It might be the supercharged version, not sure yet. That would be sweet!
    Either way i want it lol.

    I don't know yet, waiting to hear back from my dad, either way it's a solid engine, i've been researching it like crazy and there is nothing but good things said about the engine and transmission and the whole car really lol. I know it's not a porsche or anything but nice for me.

    the 3800 is an awesome engine. my moms has 160,000 on hers and its only had basic tune ups.

    my bro had a 1999 grandprix or maybe another year, not positive, but at 215,000 his 3800 was still runnin strong and he did not take it easy on it. at 215,000 he needed a new tranny, GM just started to go away from the 3800, because they switched to the 3900. its a very solid engine and was used for years and still is if i aint mistakin.

    Ya the 3800 is no longer being made. I may be driving this in the meantime haha, now you may all laugh at me!! I was going to scrap it but i need wheels for now, other than my bike. 1981 volvo 240
