ya electro, try to open it up. maybe the damage isn't so bad. I know how you must feel right now but you never know, that damage may not be bad at all. I remember my first set up, i didn't know much at all and i taped the wires (power, ground, remote and RCA's) all together. I was using a RF punch 150 powering 2 12" Cerwin Vega's in my Jeep. After a month, the whole thing fried, head unit and all. didn't help much that my jeep got wet a lot inside. Two months after that, my subs got stolen.I was also strapped for cash at the time.lol Only after it happened i found you're not supposed to put all the wires together. I didn't have a sound system for 2 years after that happened and not until about 2 years ago did i really decide to try again.
Ya, the bottom is off, looks clean, i can't see any burns. Swapped amps and my system came back, then brought it in my house and hooked it up to my surround sound and still nothing. It powers on, fan is on but nothing comes out. I don't want this stupid thing anymore lol what a waste. Going for a hifonics then that's it!!! I'll give up after i fry that one lol.
I would try to have it fixed electro. Even if you don't want it anymore, spend a little money to have it fixed then sell the damn thing if you don't want it anymore. Once you sell it, it would have paid for your Hifonics amp.
I'm gonna torch it with lighter fluid then drag it behind my car with a chain, then throw it in the ocean. Then i'll be happy lol.
lol. if you're gonna do that then throw it over my way. I'll have that beast fixed. you can even put it up on ebay not functioning, you should still be able to get pretty good money for it.
oh yeah people are dying to get there hands on one working or not. and if you dont want to mess with shipping try craigslist. do you have that in canada? my bud got rid of a bunch of stuff in 2 days using that.now he has more room for more junk.lol
Never tried craiglist i think it's here too. I have an ebay account so i can sell it there. Going to see if i can get it fixed locally, if not then i'll just sell it for parts. Should get at least $200.00. I paid over $700.00 for it. Man that stings a bit lol. What's a good amp for about $400-$500.00 Hifonics? I want three way protection, overload, overheat, short circuit and all that crap. I can't be trusted lol.
Was looking at this one, matches my subs rating exactly. I don't want ED they are lame LOL but don't tell azn i said that! That is a nice amp though, but i want 2000 watts rms just for bass at 1 0hm
Is 2400 watts too much for my sub? probably eh. I'm sure Hifonics don't put out rated power, anyway just put the gain down. Get the Hifonics Bxi 2407D. I'm sure that Cerwin Vega can handle it.
ok, it's hustle time!! I just put the orion on ebay for $280 buy it now. Ley's see if i get any bites. I'm so over this whole car audio thing!! I want it done already so i can move on to other things...
