vented design help with a 10" kicker comp

    ya you dont need to include the thickness of the port material, its insignificant.

    so the port itself dosent count as part of the box?

    lol, I just go with a sealed box. It makes it a lot easier that way. It's not for me, it's for the person who bought my sub and MTX amps. I'm helping him set it all up. Gotta start in about an hour...

    try to make it slightly over sized so you can add a port later;)

    Well, i was planning to make it at 2 cu. ft., is that big enough?

    Well, i designed a simply 2 cu.ft. box for the guy. I'll be doing the install this saturday. still a while yet, but it gives him enough time to all the builds done.

    are you going to have a 2 cu ft sealed enclosure then port it later??

    i'm just leaving the possibility there if the guy would like to go ported later. so for now, it's just a 2 cu ft sealed enclosure.

    get some closed cell foam to take up 1.25 cu ft in the enclosure. With 2 cu ft sealed for a single 10 the sub will bottom out with rated power easily.

    When he wants to port it just take out the foam.
