Now lets get back to the Olds. As you can see the roof has had Dynomat applied to it. The other installer (the one thats still talking to me) covered the back deck and the box in vinyl. Here are a couple more pictures. Anyway its almost done. We are currently building the trim panels and installing them. The other installer ( Fiberglass) is doing almost all the work on the trim panels. All I did on the interior trim panels was the templates. I'm currently on another project. If you wanna see pics let me Know
yes, pics.... That looks pretty serious lol, is it for competition or just daily driver. How many watts?
And this is what it looks like with the trim panels in place Amazing what a few panel will do for an install. Now for the other project. This one is a real pain. It is a 68 Camaro that has had the race car treatment. Its been tubbed and roll caged. And thats part of the problem. The box has to fit between the tubs and I have to work between the roll cage. I am nearly 50 and a little overweight (NO FAT JOKES, I have another thread for fat jokes aimed at someone else not me)http://www.caraudiotalk.com/audio-forum/off-topic-discussion/5818-gimme-break.html The Car The begining of the box This box has to be built outside of the car. It must fit between the roll cage bars when I go to put it in the car. Working around that cage has proven to be a challenge so far. The box should be finished on Monday
You wanna work on it, Lord knows I'll let you. That one will be a challenge, only because working around the roll cage is proving to be a problem. But this one will have a really neat look. Stick around. I'll post the finished work as soon as it gets done.
Nice! get er done! Extra batteries? Kill switch? I know anything extra on the electrical system of a race car is not desirable lol.
Well finals are finally all over and done and so is the Camaro. Its done. This is what the box looks like This is the finished box. Its covered and everything is put into place. We double check everything before its put into the car. Then we take it all off and put it all into the car. At this point, I'm pretty much done. Its up to one of our newer members Fiberglass. I got put on to another project. So he finished up the install. The box is bolted down and the wiring is all finished up. This box actually looks like it belongs in the car. This is the look we were after. Tell me what you think.
Damn Ranger...Very nice job. Someday I hope to have box building skills as good as you. I want a table saw!!!!!
It sounds decent, not great. The woofer sounds fantastic. The Sony 6 x 9 are, well, Sony. The main problem is that they are mounted way too close together in the rear deck. No sound up front. What that car needs is a couple of 5-1/4 inch speakers up front. Put the up front speakers on the amp and put the 6 x 9's on the deck. Overall it sounds good but there is room for improvement. Normally I don't like sound coming from the rear, but this case is an exception. That car has one really healthy exhaust tone. We need a lot of sound. I am very happy with how the car turned out.
