That port is 6 inches in diameter...know your metric viking!!! lol

Wouldn't the port being that close to the back wall lower the tuning than what it actually is??

I think of the metric system as an evil and useless way of measuring things, i HATE IT!!!!!!

Having a vent too close to a surface will resrtict the air movement, actually causing the tuning frequency to be higher ............

Helmholtz resonator, its a very special name for a very special box tuning method, it has long been forgotton in todays audio world, basically it is a method of achieving a usable backwave from the speakers excursion, it involves careful measuremnts and a lot of time to construct, the end result gains you about 3 dB of output from your single speaker system LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! Its just another name for a port!!!!!!!!!!!!

The port is 5-inches from the back of the box and its a 6-inch diameter port.
Its going into a 93 Chev Cavalier.

And yes the Dayton would sound great in a slightly larger box. The responce curve even in the wrong size box is really good.
