That speaker does not like that box. I wouldn't build it just yet

I'll load the specs this weekend and see whats going on, but that speaker and that box don't like each other. I wonder if something was input wrong?

ok, that's very possible, i had a hard time inputing the specs, took me a few days of screwing around. Cool, thanks! I don't have the mdf yet anyways so it's no rush.

I got the same graph you did. Now looking at the specs, this woofer is ideally suited for a ported enclosure, so I am not sure whats going on.

BassBox is actually recommending a really small enclosure, the problem is that a port won't fit in it.

I'm gonna do a little more research cause this ones got me baffled

Come'on Ranger...I know you can figure this on out.

Sorry electro but hey Ranger....I brought my truck into my Welding class and showed my friends in there what a REAL box could do. They were all like "holy SH!T man" and "what the hell is that??"

And it was on 600 watts with one 15 inch MA Audio HK150XC sub.

Thanks Ranger. I can't say that enough.

Electro...I'm sure he'll get the sub enclosure deal worked out for ya

haha, i've been hearing azn boast about the box you designed for him, getting excited, i've never had anything even close to the system i'm going to have and the custom box should be the iceing on the cake! Hey ranger sorry to jump threads but do you know how this sub gets mounted?

I want to mount it in a vented box i have now temporarily.

Electrolytic, did you know that you have a competition only sub. Your box needs to be in the 10-15 cu ft range. The dip is still there but the peak will stay around port tuning and with this size it will go above 0 dB. This typically only happens with competition only woofers. There is no sound Q with this woofer, it is not possible. So if you plan on SPL competition, then you have the right woofer. But lets get serious, you need a lot more power.

Also, minimum recomended port for competion for this sub will be around 12 x 12 inches, thats 144 sq in. I hope you have a really big SUV.

That sub is similar to my Planet Audio FU subs, they are not capable of playing regular, normal music. Sound quality is NOT possible with this type of sub. Their Sound Quality sucks, but that is not what they were designed for.

    So now we know
