No offense, but most saleens are upgraded looking gts with like 5 more hp.

Unless you get the 351 or whatever the fuck it is, the s/c saleen.

BTW, how can you tell what year and motor GT it is? The ones with GT imprinted in the body, are which year? An the ones with GT emblems are which?

 

I seriously have always thought of it this way...

The ones with the 5.0 in them ALWAYS had badges on the flanks that were worn with pride.. unless the owner removed them. Nice little chrome "5.0"...

The newer stangs with the 4.6... they just say GT or Cobra, nothing that says 4.6.. probably out of embarassment of their formerly glorious heritige...

And I say "glorious heritage" not because the Mustangs ever really surpassed the F-body GM's in performance terms (unless you go WAAAAAY back!)..
But because they were always very close in performance, which I admire considering the GM cars have a big displacement advantage...
I think that 5.0 motor is an overacheiver!

I always figured if I did want to go the musclecar route I would probably do the Mustang thing, because there are less of them, but still tons of parts.. it's not so "dime a dozen" (well, it still IS, but it is less so)..
Plus my best friend has a modified Z28, his brother has a wildly modified older drag Z28, one of my other friends has an older Z28 turned show car, and yet another of my friends just bought a 2002 black T/A (which looks nice sitting on it's 17" Intro Twisted Vista's)...
I would HAVE to get something that wasn't an F-body!

Anyways, why a Ford? Truely, what glorious heritage? The 5.0s are not too bad, but the 4.6s are a JOKE!!! I raced a 4.6 Cobra (brand new paper tags) in my Nat with 3 full grown men in the car, with the AC on. Wanna guess who won? Mustangs sure sound good though, I'll give them that. Ford= Fix Or Repair Daily. Just forewarning you...

Why not get a nice Nat? Or an old Oldsmobile. I had a 1970 442 w-30 ragtop with the 455. That was an animal!!! I've had 6 Olds in my life, all great cars with fantastic performance!!!

I agree 1000% on the 4.6L's

But O dont agree with your Ford=fix or repair daily

I have owned many ThunderBrids and I love EVERY one of them

now i can not say the same for the other fords but the T-Brids are my Favorite car (ihave owned 3)
