huh? lol i don't know, i'm just saying don't overpower that sub they are touchy. Get an amp that pushes 600-750 watts rms @ 1 ohm no more.

you think it's still too much power for the L7?

well my dad came home and he said the car was pretty much junk, so i was lookin in the news paper and i found a red 1966 impala: red, runs but doesn't drive, very nice, needs TLC, for $800. so i think i will call that guy tomorrow. i am thinkin something is wrong with the drivetrain, transmission or rearend probably. if i spend $700-800 on the car and about $200-250 on a tranny i can have a nice car for around $1000. and a base for a nice system. that is another thing, if the car needs a tranny, there is one right next to it in the paper: rebuilt TH350 with B&M stall converter. so i think i will have to check all this out tomorrow. and what do u all suggest for an amp for the L7?

Maybe this.. I've never had a 15" kicker only 12's and 10's and they are 750 watts. 1000 watts should be perfect though.

i could prooly spend $400-500, and i love to work on cars and i am on a budget. it is just what u find around here. an the impala would be that car that gets the restomod type treatment. so i would keep it for probly forever.

well that amp looks good but for about the same price i can get a bigger one and turn the gain down. is that 1000 watts max?

it's 1000 watts rms, that's the true power, it will match your sub's rating perfect.

but i was also thinkin about the Nine.1 now too. that would be soo bad as! lol but that is 200 more watts RMS. but the Nine.1 is underrated too, so it will prolly be even more so idk. and on that Hifonics it says 1000 on the case and usually on the case, it says the max, doesnt it?

    then do a nine.5.

thats only 600RMS at one ohm

    he probably meant nine.1

This is rated at 12.5v so it is underated, nice amp but it may be too much for the kicker, i wouldn't do it lol, that would be about 1400 watts rms or more..

    Elemental Designs

    Model Name : NINe.1 Amplifier
    RMS Power @ 12.5v : 1200 x 1 @ 1Ohm
    900 x 1 @ 2Ohm, 450 x 1 @4Ohm

ya prolly way too much so y not the hifonixs 1606D or whetever it is? and then just turn down the gain? or could i just turn down the gain and have an amp if i ever decide to upgrade to a bigger sub.

that would be too much for the kicker at 1ohm. you could do the nine.1 at 2ohms though.

what about the MTX? or is this too much too?

no i meant the nine.5 . i heard it can do 700-800 with a good electrical upgrade. meaning a big 3.and it wil power your whole system.

its capable of doing 500 x2 on the 4 ch section.thats what i read.
