ok.the last time i used my big fans i didnt use a relay. im going with out fans right now cause i re wired the amps again. the 4ch is running the subs and its in the open.so it cools off better.
I do know what fans to get and how to wire them up but i'm just wondering how it should look under a false flooring (for the push and pull effect). I've been trying to find pictures but i haven't had any luck.
well i found out why those little fans were killing my amps.they are rated at 1.8 watts and the other was 1.6 watts. my 3 in fans are .16 amps each.all 12v. thats why the bigs ones ran fine when i had them in before. oh yeah...i also did a complete rewire under my hood.cost me....126 bucks.ouch. turns out my batt terminal that ive had for almost 18 years wasnt clamping onto the batt post like it used to. so it cost me 56 bucks for 2 new ones from CC.i know i payed retail, but it was the cheapest in town and they are very solid. my under hood fuse was also falling apart.thats how i knew somthing was a miss under the hood.it just literally fell apart.i guess you do get what you pay for,and i payed 5$.i needed one quick and it was cheap. i also had to replace my power from the batt to the fuse.the fuse box wasnt to bad i think.it was 30 bucks at BB i had a 5$ off coupon.its a rockford and it is stout. i also beefed up the grounds under the hood with some wire that i had left over.it was 8 gauge so i doubled up for now. cleaned up the frame a bit and installed them into an exsisting ground bolt. so when i started the truck my volt meter went way past the 14v mark and my digital meter was reading 14.9 volts.wow.it did settle down to a steady 14.2 after a few minutes.

lol.. i can just kick my self for not inspecting my cables for so long. as for the cheap audiopipe fuse holder.i should know better. so i made a short vid of it playing a 30-35hz sine wave then it goes to a40-45hz wave.notice how the voltage just stays rock steady, and i wasnst giving it gas.just at idle.
well when i get some more wire that will change. the wire going to the amps will have the fuse box over the moter.thats what most likely cause the old one to dry rot
thanks.long time no see.. well i just got back from fixing the problem.i forgot i had some slack in the power cable so i brought it up front.the fuse box is now 20 or so inches from the batt.i had to tuck it in the passenger corner of the engine bay to keep it away from the ecu,and a/c unit.
yeah had been a while since i last commented here lol hard to keep up with all the forums im in ...i dont think that the fuse box will have anyproblems there cause i dont see how it can get pinched or short anywhere there i would tighten the cables tight so the dont fall and the cable touch the engine, and if you have some tiewraps or however they are called and hold the cable tightly with the other cables.... sooo... have you metered the new box yet??
