Then i would have to get a second 2100, one for each coil haha. I was told the 2100 competition is better than 2150 series and the 2250 the beast.
Pedro, how did you set up the fans? I have no idea how i'm going to do mine. Where exactly did you put them?
you basically want to force the wind produced by the fans over the heatsink part of the amp and then be exhausted so that hot air will not be fed back into the intake fan.
so if you have a false floor then a fan should be right near the heatsink of each amp? The exhaust fan should then go where? So that would mean i would have to make some holes for the exhaust fans?
since i took out my spare and mounted it on the roof i had the hole where it sat. so i just put one fan at on end of the heat sink(push) then the other to pull the air out. i took them out cause my amps started to act up with them wired to the remotes
The Loudest 2 Sub BassRacer! - Page 3 - FloridaSPL go to post #26.that will destroy your 2100.muuhahahaha.lol and for only 500$
yeah because of the opening i have a hole to draw in cooler air. now how tall will your false floor be?when i explained what i wanted to the guy that made the floor i was sure he understood that i wanted my amps covered up completly, and that i would mount my fans in afterwards. after i saw the finished product i liked it better.so plan on how you will add fans into it. if you have space you can mount some on the sides of the floor.close to the amps.
well my amps are about 2.63 inches high. I was thinking 3.5 inches high. I want the whole thing to be covered and i'll use plexiglass or laminated glass (safety glass) so you can see the amps. the whole thing will be enclosed so i know i'm going to need fans. I want it to look kinda like this but i'm gonna use a router so the glass will fit in flush. I just have to figure out where i'll put the fan to take out the hot air.
If you take a look at the pic of my expy, towards the rear on the left hand side... Is that a air intake for the AC? just wondering if that would be sufficient? then all i would have to do is put fans near the amps to push the hot air towards there. don't know if i'm right, just a thought.
will you be keeping the rear seats? is there room under the seats to mount the amps.maybe you can raise the seats a little if there isnt. or if the floor will go all the way to the tailgate you can have the fans there.
seats are coming out for sure. the false floor will come all the way to the tailgate (that's what i'm planning). like this: That's why i'm kinda confused on the fan placement cuz like on this pic, I can't see where the hell he put the fans. Maybe he put them on the side of the false flooring.
didn't think of that. I can't put them towards the back cuz that's where the sub is going to be so i guess i don't have a choice but to put the fans towards the rear like you said. Now i just gotta figure out a way so they won't be seen.
forgot to ask.how should i wire my fans? i guess i have to use a relay?ive never had to use one before.
damn! i just had a thought.maybe its the fans.my 3 in fans ran fine before. i used 2 1 1/2 in fans from some broken 12v stuff i had.thats the first time i used those.except to see if they would power up. tomorrow i'll re install one of my 3 inchers on the M44.(i rewired my subs to run off of the 4 ch,and my mids/hi's of off the M50's. no more light dimming!yay!!
