i am very fortunate, luckily my parents already pay alot for insurance, we have a 1993 Corvette, 1983 Jaguar, 2007 Monte Carlo, 1994 Dodge Ram 3500, and now my 1987 Cutlass. It was only like 20 sum dollars to add me, then i got my ticket and it went to 40 ish, I also get big discounts for my grades, and that drivers ed.
40 per month? Mine is $433 every 6 months and I have a clean driving record and have been driving for about 2 years.
dude my dad has an insane insurance plan.... when i get my car on the road under his name i will be paying $140 a month! its gona suck!!!!!
Yeah, I am also 15 and I start drivers ed tomorrow and I have to drive with an instructor but, I can't do that part until the first weeek of May bc I broke my ankle. Lol. But I would go to college if I was you, I plan on getting a buissiness degree and taking a landscaping class and opening up my own Landscaping company.
dude good for you dude sounds like a plan....im startin drivers ed next week and funny that you mentioned about you breaking your ankle...i just broke my index finger playing ball lol....hurts like hell 2 type.....
yeah, lol. I ramped a fourwheeler and it landed on my foot and wrapped my leg around the tire but I didn't even know, I walked on it for several hours before going to the hospital. ha but I suppose I have a high pain tolerancy bc I done the same thing when I broke my collarbone last summer.
I didn't read most of the post on this but I will add my .02 At least go to college, even if you don't finish, you will gain a ton more experience in life then if you don't. I was fortunate to bust my ass and work my way up to a point where I didn't need college. It's not the easy way to go. A degree would of gotten me into doors that took me years to open. So tell your mom to smack you in the back of head and to tell you to stay in school.
kinda. lol but what made it worst was the hospital couldn't read the x-rays and this was a Friday night and I had to wait until Monday to go to the bone specialist, and guess what? I didn't have any medicine. ha
sorry i didnt have my mom write back yet she read all the posts yesta da but i was walking out da house when she was and thought she was going to but as i can see she didnt and if anyone else would like to add 2 dis convo please do
I still want to get my two cents in on this even though it's kind of old, sorry, I've been gone for a while. I myself have always grown up around mechanics loggers and truck drivers, my dad and mom didn't want me to be broken by 40 like my dad and uncle so they pushed me hard to go to school. We compromised on a VoTech for mechanics, and both my parents and I think this was an incredibly wise decision, and feel very good about the choice. I have several potential job openings and now it is getting time to actually get into one of those jobs. I am by trade of course... a mechanic, anymore even with a degree a college student straight out of school only makes about 50 grand a year, unless your an engineer, then that starts higher but doesn't grow. As a mechanic, with an associates degree in business, I have the potential depending on how well I work to make upwards of 60grand a year. Consider taking some classes at a cc in your area to get an idea of the college thing, and if you decide to do the college thing, you don't have to do so many credits.
but I think we have all made it clear that schooling of some sort is definately needed and would be a very wise decision
