Oh....you don't have to replace any exhisting power wires...Just leave em be and keep them hooked up as is...All you need to do is run a strait shot 4 gauge from the alternator to the battery positive.

I Just scrapped the factory battery negative to chassis ground as it was crappy corroded 8 gauge and replace it with 0/1 gauge

hey azn well i got the taurus all wired up, i didn't do the altenator wire yet though I'm afraid for that fuse box that is linked in to the charging wire already, if i put a straight shot 4 gauge to the battery i will be eliminating that 175 amp fuse that is protecting the fuse panel, no? I've already did something to the door trigger light in the wiring trying to get the factory ford amp to turn on for 3 days, this car is loaded with wiring. so am bypassing the ford amp it doesnt look that powerfull anyways. i don't think it has a remote wire like other amps it is doing something with a ground wire that is switching on and off somewhere! i give up on that anyways. I have 4 gauge now all around and the grounds are very solid, also put 1 gauge from the battery to the chassis, 130 amp altenator and 1000 cold crank amp battery. The factory charging wire that is coming off the altenotor now looks like a 6 gauge to me so i might be able to get away with it. I just don't want to leave that fuse panel open with no protection it would be brutal if something happened to that fuse panel. Maybe i can put a 175 amp fuse on the other side of the fuse panel before it goes to the battery, that way it should be protected no? lol
still looking for a mono amp around 600 watts rms do you have a pic and model # of the one you mentioned:) Merry xmas Happy New years!!

You don't have to mess with the exhisting alternator to battery wiring...just run a straight shot from the alternator post to the battery...but make sure the wire in out of the way of any moving parts or any major heat sources like the exhaust
