damn viking you don't screw around do you it is a diode and i ripped the sticker opening it oh well, so is this my fault? i put my old bazooka that is no more and the mtx will put now in my gallery

 

the last two pics are the mtx i'm sure i didnt hook it backwards even once it is very clearly written on the amp and i checked it about 5 times to make sure.

lol oh man i put it back together, i know my camera sucks it doesn't take good close up. I'm going to try and take it back tommorrow see if i can get an exchange or something. i couldn't get the other side of the casing off there is two very small allen key screws that i don't have the tool for.

 

that black spot is a blown diode

 

if i get stuck with it then will see about fixing it.

hey, well i managed to return it and they gave me a pioneer GM-7200M not as nice as the mtx but i got that and they gave me back $170.00 wohoooo. i hooked it up in my tempo and the first thing i see is a red light! I almost crapped my pants on the spot lol. turns out that is the power light thats red and it is working. i can only turn it up very little it is sucking all the juice from my car without the cap, everything is 4 gauge except the altenator charging wire is still original. I'm happy for now though its good enough to get me up north to get my taurus and will do it properly there. I'm looking for a nice mono amp that is 600 watts RMS if anyone can hook me up i have paypal.

 

oh, also i got insurance today and i found out the car is a 96 not 97 and 96 was the last year they had JBL systems as far as i can tell, so i might have the JBL system!!yay

 

hey, anzi yes i have been through the ringer about caps and the big three, its only temporary am driving up north tonight to get my new car a taurus and will do the big 3 this week on it. I'm looking to spent about $300-$400 canadian i guess but if you show me something sweeter i may try and hustle some more cash.

:mellow: hey azn thanks! thats awesome i need a little time though i'm up north picking up my car. I have one thing though the altenator charging wire has a 175 amp fuse on it and is attached to the fuse panel in the front of the car under the hood then it goes to the battery. What is this here for and can i bypass it? Anyone........ I want to run the 4 gauge straigt from the altenator to the battery.
