It's normal for it to be like 8 volts?

And yes, it was insanely loud. My friend who lives about a 1/4 mile away said he could feel it eating dinner and my other friend who lives across the street could hear it in the shower. They both came over and watched a bullet shell rattle around my dashboard and a completely full water bottle jump up and down on my trunk lid.

I don't know the car is in the garage... there's 6" in front of the nose and 6" behind the trunk... bigass grand marquis lol. I'll be able to work on it again next week.

My van had (sold it, student loans will be coming due soon) 4 2250watt RMS amps, one amp per voice coil. They had to be balanced. I dont remember the exact voltage but it was in the upper teens. (16 to 18 volts).

I think that should be normal for your amps.

Way too much, I sold the first two for just a couple dollars under brand new price. I will get the same for the last two by the end off the week.

haha, wooooooo that's sick, battery for each amp, did you have more than one alternator? Nice and mean looking amps too, what are they?

Nice Install, simple yet menacing lol.

The only speakers we had in the van were 2 Planet Audio FU-18's. Its only purpose was to play a 66 Hz tone. Thats it. And it only had to play that tone for about 2 seconds.

So we had only the stock alternator. And it had no problem keeping the 5 batteries charged (there was one more up front). But we also kept a trickle charger on the van, that way the alternator didnt have to work to hard.

Anyway, I dont plan on competing anymore. It was fun while it lasted.

If you really wanna know how to get to 170dB ask Azn to send you a copy of a paper I wrote about building SPL vehicles and keep your Team Rockford woofer. With the right vehicle two woofers and a lot of power we should get pretty close.

This might give you an Idea about the size of these two boxes

I really think that braces inside a competion enclosure is a stupid idea, but in this case I had to. Always brace competion enclosures on the outside. Oh well, we live and learn.

That port looks too small LOL.. Was there any port velocity? Reminds me of the old phonograph players with the big horn speaker/amplifier.

Looks like fun! i've never been to a competition but would go if i ever hear of any in my area. I'm not looking for spl, i just want a nice quality kick ass system with tons of bottom end that i can drive everyday. I do still have the rockford subwoofer.. are you SURE i can't use this for music? I don't really want to give it up, but it is for sale now and can go soon. Only thing i noticed different in bassbox was the decibel graph was in the -db
