    So does this mean that if I'm not getting 28 volts I can safely turn up the gain, etc. a little?

    no cuz 28 volts IS 400 watts. Turn the gain up more will mean a possibly clipped signal and a blown sub

    Alright, I'm really tempted to do something drastic.

    I'm considering saying screw the 20's, get some black steel 16's or clean up the stock rims and throw some whitewalls on them for cheap, say under $450 total...

    and going all out on stereo equiptment...

    maybe a second 400.1, second cvr12, a 150.2 to power the 5x7's, etc.

    I've got over $1,000

    I was considering doing a setup like this...

    2 mtx 5x7"s in front doors
    2 cdt audio 6.5" components in kick panels on front doors
    1 kicker 350.4 powering 5x7"s and 6.5"s
    2 kicker cvr12's in ported box
    2 kicker 400.1's powering cvr12's

    The 6.5 components would be fine for the front doors...the added 5x7's up there may make it sound like crap.

    Spend the extra money on more edead for the front doors to really make those components sing

    I'm almost positive I want the two 400.1's and two cvr12's...

    It's the speaker and 2/4 channel amp situation I'm not sure about.

    Well so are you gonna build a new box for two cvrs???

    You DEFINITELY NEED a DMM if you are gonna run too amps...Helps a lot to get the voltages the same

    The potentiometers on amps are all the same accuracy

    Wtf is a DMM? and a potentiometer? lol

    pots are the dials on the amp.i dont remember do you still have stock speakers in your car?

    No,

    All I have in my car right now is a kicker 06zx400.1 amp, kicker 05cvr12 sub, and 2 mtx 6802 (5x7's)... and panasonic head unit.

    i'm not sure if this will work but the zx700.5's sub ch is rated at 420watts into 2ohms and you'll still have a 4 ch amp too.so you will only need one more amp in stead of two.you will need a DMM to match the outputs of the sub out for your extra sub.

    RMS Power Rating:

    * 4 ohms: 70 watts x 4 chan. + 210 watts x 1 Class D Sub channel
    * 2 ohms: 85 watts x 4 chan. + 420 watts x 1 Class D Sub channel
    * 4 ohms (bridged): 130 watts x 2 chan. + 420 watts x 1 chan. (2 ohms sub channel, 210 watts @ 4 ohms)

    My speakers are 60 rms (4 ohm impedence). It looks like if you wire the sub to 2 ohm you have to wire the speakers to 2 ohm also. Will that work?

    no you dont have to wire ALL the speakers into 2 ohms.those are just the specs.you can wire each ch any way you want.

    do your fronts as70x2.the rears go unused for now,and the sub at 420x1.then later you can maybe add more speakers to the front or the rear and hook up the unused channels

    Here are my current thoughts...

    400.1 powering cvr12 (400w @ 2 ohm)
    700.5 powering cvr12 (420w @ 2 ohm) + 5x7's and another set of speakers (70w x 4 @ 4 ohm)

    That's 1,100 watts. What would I need to do to power all of this. Can I just upgrade amp wiring to 0 guage and upgrade big three to 0 guage?

    alternator= 135 amps
    battery= Size: 65, CA: 1000, CCA: 875, RC: 165

    Should I upgrade the big three with 0 guage and run two 0 guage power wires with anl fuses to the two amps and use 0 guage for their grounds?

    Big three with 0 gauge

    0 gauge back to a distro block and 4 gauge feeding the amps
