    BIG 3....

ok i went out to do some xmas shopping, and i'm driveing to best buy.so while in traffic there's this suv flashing his lights at me.

he's behind me for like 3 blocks then follows me into the parking lot.well the only parking was in the back of the lot near the street.so we park close to each other.

he gets out and is this little bitty kid maybe 125lbs.so i get out.not scared.so while walking to the store i gotta ask him why the flashing lights on me.

he tells me "oh sorry its my stereo.when the bass hits it does that,i'm here to buy a cap"i stop him and ask if he doesnt mind if i see his set up.i had my niece with me so he didnt freak out or nothing.

so he has a box in his hatch with 2 infinity 12's running on a hifonics amp.he said it's 1600 watts.but his wireing was thinner than 8 gauge and i think it was home wireing.

i showed him my set up and played a bass cd with the bass all the way up and he was suprised that i dont use a cap,and that my lights dont dim.

so we went inside and he spent his money on an amp install kit instead of a cap.hopefully it helped him.

only if he had the money for new mids/highs cause he had that loud distortion thing going.lol

    one down........more to go.lol

lol nicely done. I was just on cardomain when I was bored, and started looking at prefab ported boxes. I came across one, and a guy left a review saying he put his sub in it and it sucked. Then another guy said the reason it sucked was because his subwoofer sucked and he needed a more powerful subwoofer. I found it quite funny.

i have 2 polk 12's in a big Qlogic box and when i first got it in my jimmy i thought wow loud bass.they were in my old pick up.87 gmc s-15,they were loud in there but louder in the hatch.

a month later i take a trip to tennessee so i take the big box out and use the band pass i use in my home theater.it's smaller. man what a diff it hit deeper than the 12's.box does make a big diff.not just the sub.

They all are the same company...Crunch is bang for your buck.

Theres a review and a vid about the GP1600.1 somewhere...the guy tested it and it put out around 1000 watts rms

Okay, so for wiring... In my trunk I've got the 4 gauge wire, 2 RCA plugs, and another small wire...

Do I plug the 4 gauge into the one on the left or the right? I take it the small wire goes in the middle?

I assume these + and - holes are for the 16 gauge speaker wire.

Do I plug the RCA cables into the input or output?

Power wire goes to 12Volt positive....ground wire goes to ground

Remote wire goes to the REM input in the middle

RCA's go into the input as this is where the signal is inputted lol

Eazy come on you're making this harder than it is lol

    But thanks for the pics

oh yeah and the middle picture is the speaker outputs

Okay, all I have for wiring in the trunk is this...

The 4 gauge goes to the battery, and I found a ground terminal attached to the metal underneath my backseat...with no wire.

well....MAKE A NEW GROUND...if your exhisting ground is to a seat bolt do not use it....find a clean spot, sand it down to bare metal, drill a hole and bolt that sucker down as tight as you can.

Viking or Ranger or anyone else who knows the answer to this question.

I am going to add another battery in my back of my Explorer...Problem is I can't find a good place to ground...I've tried under the seat but there are like 3 layers to sheet metal.

I was wonder if I could ground the battery directly to the truck FRAME with 0 gauge wire...I was thinking about removing the rear drivers side panel and drilling a hole in the fender or somewhere near there and run the wire down to the frame and ground it there with a bolt and nut...of course I would use a grommet and seal the hole from the outside...also sand down the frame to bare metal and spray bed liner/engine enamel over it

Do I use 4 gauge for ground? Will I need to do any sautering?

Also, I've got a pic of my previous amp...

    Blown up...

I take it the dark red is the ground...but it looks like there's another little red wire next to the little blue remote wire...am I missing a wire?

The only wire you are missing is the ground....ground needs to be same size or bigger than power wire....4 gauge will do fine....you can prolly pick some up from a local shop

Yes , that will work GREAT!!!!! Just be sure to run a ground from the battery to the frame also in the same manner! that is one of the BEST ways to ground a sytem.

yes do a search...through all of these damn pages haha

And thanks Viking...I am planning on running a 0 gauge from the battery to the frame and 0/1 gauge from the battery to the body.

I hate having 4 ground wires on my terminal...Can I just ground the engine block wire to the body or frame and be done with...it is crappy stock ford 8 gauge or smaller( engine to battery wire...it is crap)
