I went to circuit city today now that insurance company has contacted them. The guy at circuit city said they're covering everything except the subwoofers, as expected, but this time he said they'd probably be giving me an MTX or Rockford Fosgate amplifier.

Better be giving you the biggest baddest amp they got.

    Wait...so you aren't getting two CVR's now??

No I had figured I'd have to buy the subs and box this whole time anyway...but I'm still ****ed that I spent all this time researching subs that would go best with the kicker 750.1 amp...and now they say they're probably going to give me mtx or rockford fosgate.

Probably the kickers still...unless for whatever reason they don't work well with the amp they give me...oh and I priced MDF. It was $20 bucks for a sheet 49"x97", and my friend has a saw that coukd cut the woofer holes. All I need is glue and carpet right? Or do I need some sort of wiring?

Get some 2 inch coarse thread screws...and PREDRILL your holes or else you will have bad splittage of wood.

I'm guessing your friend has a jig saw?? I have built a whole box with a jig saw before...took some time but it came out nice...and yes 20 bucks is standard retail for a sheet of MDF.

predrill for the subwoofer screws? Do I need some sort of terminals or something in the back where the amp plugs into the woofers?

No predrill all screws holding the box together and I always predrill the screws for the woofers also.

So you DO NOT need a terminal...just cut a long enough length of wire from the woofer(s) to the amp...then drill a hole just big enough to fit the wire through and then caulk it up to seal it...

I thought it was best just to use wood glue to hold the box together?

Yes that will definitely work if you just clamp the pieces...but drilling screws every 4-6 inches will clamp the wood together AND further strength the joints.

Also you won't have to wait hours and hours for every joint to dry...unless you have a buttload of clamps...but screwing you can just keep moving on to the next piece

Okay, so I need to use both wood glue and 2" coarse thread screws every 4-6 inches to hold the box together, I need MDF, I need carpet, I need spray glue to hold the carpet down, I need a jigsaw, I need a drill, I need to predrill all screw holes with a drill bit, I need caulk to close all air gaps on the inside of the box, I need some long wire to go from the subwoofers to the amp...is there anything else I need for building materials or specific tools?

I was thinking something like this tuned to 30hz. As you can see, I don't know the port dimensions. I also don't know how big of a hole(s) should be cut into the support divider.

...or I could put the port in the middle so I don't have to worry about the size of the hole in the support divider, like this...

Well I was hoping to make the port the extend height of the box, for easy building, but it seems no matter how wide I make it, a 16.5" tall port in the 18" tall box is too big according to the port calculators.

    (2nd picture)

    (40" wide, 18" tall, 15" deep, 3/4" MDF, tuned to 30hz)

...I don't know, thats what I'm trying to figure out. I wanted the port to be 16.5" tall...and however wide and long....and get me 30hz tune.

Um....in WinISD it tells you the cross sectional area at the bottom of the box window

Well, if I did all of this right, it looks like the vent should be 16.5" tall, 2" wide, and 13" deep.

When winisd asks for the volume....are they asking for exterior, interior, per subwoofer, or for both subwoofers?
