BURN IT!!! I hope you don't have the 3.4 DOHC. If you do, do not, and I repeat this, DO NOT take it anywhere but the dealer to replace the timing belt. I have seen so many that were replaced incorrectly that wound up stretching the timing chain, causing it to slap and bending the starter armeture to the point where it woln't start, or barely start. In my town I am the ONLY tech who does them. The dealer removes the motor and sends them off to GM for a rebuild :blink: . No exageration. By the way, when someone installs them wrong, I get over 2 grand to replace the chain, belt, gears, and starter (I always tune it up then too since the intake is off).
so, WHEN the headgasket doesnt fix it, what do i do to make sure they fix it at their cost...or can i even make them do it since what theyre claiming wont fix it? eric
LOL, i remember when i used to work at the dealer they used to do about 2-3 3.4L swaps a day our parts department used to stock them :lol:
