all the ones i have searched for are well over $100.00 for one that can read over 120db, i'd be a bit weary though on the accuracy of that one coming from ebay.

On the jbl system, i meant does the overall sound of the system sound weak in the bottom end?

ok got it wired up.it was raining here so it was very humid.got a good sweat going.lol

anyways it hits very hard now,but i had to up the sub level from -15 to -5.

my guess is it has to do with the fact i split the voltage from the eq out to 2 amps in stead of 1.does that sound right?so instead of one amp getting 8v 2 are getting 4v each.

    ^^^^^make any sense?^^^^^

so you have an amp on each coil now???

How did you split the signal??

  11. pedro quiroga

    yes one per coil,and i used y splitter's

i'm going to do somthing diff.

one amp is getting a right signal and the other a left.imma do it so each amp see's both L/R signal to see if its a signal strength issue.

if you used y splitters than its right that the level must be turned up on the HU. The signal voltage is split up between the amps. If your HU puts out a mono signal for the sub out than there is no difference between left and right

    ok.
from the head it goes to the eq then to the amps.the head is set to mono and the eq is also set to mono.

so you are doubling your power to that sub? how many watts you figure each coil will get now. Don't smoke it lol.

well its rated at 245 x1 at 4ohms. so 490 watts rms.

i drove around for a while listening like i do and the new power is........addictive!! the deep bass is soo much more pronounced.

my gps vibrates a little more than before.lol

also i can feel a diff in my ears.they started to bother me at loud bass passages so i know i did something right.lol

oh, and the amps didnt heat up too much.not like the M44 did running the sub.

you couldnt even hold it for more than a sec before it burned your hand.

now i can leave my hand on them with no probs
