Good people here, i've been all over the internet and back again and this is the best place for car audio. Everywhere else everyone has attitudes and just use the forums to make themselves look good by putting other people down. I can see why they jumped you though lol although it's still uncalled for. Most of your equipment is cheaper ebay stuff, it does the trick but there is much better out there. Stick around, everyone here will help you learn.

yea i have heard alot of people say polk has good highs but i havent heard any that sounded right to me. it could of just been there install. wana drive up here and show me yours ? lol

you can get about any brand of car audio off ebay cheap. how is mine the only cheap stuff off ebay? i have tryed many brands of car audio and havent found really any thing better. where i lived befor i was in all the compations watching of corse but still sub wise it was all ways memphis or JL subs that won not just in SPL but in sound quality aswell. eclipse head units are the only CD player i havent been able to make skip when im out 4 wheeling or because of a scratched CD. they also seem to put out the cleanest sound out of any other i have used or heard. the kenwood amp is because it was cheap and i wanted to try out how well there amps are. the alpine amp is not mine i barowed it from a friend that upgraded to a memphis PR 500 witch needless to say does alot better then the alpine. the audiobahn amp was free i think its the bigest POS amp i have ever owned. power wise it pushes less the 1/2 of what its rated for and no matter how you set it makes my sub sound slow. i dont know how the explain it any better then that. but when i had the kenwood amp running that same sub it seemed as tho the sub hit faster not really harder. its really hard to explain what i mean unless you was here to hear it for your self. please dont knock my subs or head units there good stuff. the kenwood seems to be ok. the rest have at it knock it all you want im right with ya.

lol, ok i'm done bashing your stuff, actually my system was bought through ebay also so i shouldn't talk lol. Well to me pioneer sounds the best next to alpine for head units, i haven't heard many eclipse headunits and the one i remember it reminded me of jensen decks as far as the sound. I'm sure they make high end decks also. When it comes down to it though if you haven't been told this already, the amount and quality of boom you get assuming you have enough power and a descent sub greatly depends on the design of the enclosure for the sub. I've been through many many amps and subs mostly from ebay and they all went up in smoke lol so i have some reservations about ebay stuff and i also learned to never buy used again, you might get lucky here and there but you end up getting screwed more than winning.

i havent had good luck with pioneer head units they all seem to skip rather ezy. skiping drives me nuts when the subs hit hard i dont want my deck skiping. maybe there are so good one out there that dont but i paid less for my eclipse at a tru retail store then i paid for the highest pioneer i ever had. sad to say i tolk the pioneer back 4 times befor i asked for my money back ad went to anether store and got the eclipse. the eclipse in my truck is about 3 years old now and still working just like the day i put it in. eclipse did have a glitch in there CD3100 head units stay away from there there junk. all the rest seem to be good. now alpine head unit wow im gona hurt your feelings on this one i dont mean to tho. my buddy here in town had one and we couldnt figer out why his subs wouldnt hit hard at all. we tryed every thing differnt boxs sealed and vented custom made of corse. and when a song was playing it would get quiter then louder back and forth all the time. finaly i said ditch the alpine head unit and buy an eclipse. we he ordered one threw me hooked it up instantly the subs hit hard and i mean hard. for what they are. just by changing the deck it sounded like 1 8" sub back there with the alpine to hurting his ears with the eclipse. total night and day differnce. i couldnt beleve it my self. but im thinking there was some then wrong inside the alpine to be that bad. there had to be.

the subs i have i got them brand new not used same with the eclipses decks and the kenwood amp. just the alpine amp and audiobahn amp i have are used. well the alpines not even mine.

memphis sub are amazing with the right vented box. put them in a sealed box they sound like crap not normal crap but total crap lol vented box they hit so damn hard and sound 20 times better. guess thats just a memphis sub for ya. beleve me the way these things are setup now in my ramcharger are just loud i barowed a buddys SPL meter when i just had 2 of them in my ram and his meter only goes up to 150DB and i maxed it out befor i had it turned up all the way. its prity loud for not really being set up for pure SPL. i built the boxs more for rock music so there tuned at 39hz and 2.74 cubic foot per sub. now im thinking on building a new one and just run 2 subs with 3.5 cubic foot per sub and tune them down to about 33hz

i didnt mean to bash on alpine or pioneer just stating what i have seen them do please take no offence to it.

Ya that orion would get burning hot in minutes, don't know if was ever meant to get that hot maybe it had an internal problem. I paid over $800 for that stupid amp lol, never again. Class D all the way for me now.

Pioneer has a feature called asl or something like that where if it's turned on in the settings your deck would turn itself up or down by itself depending on how much noise is in and around the car. That happened to me to when i first got it, i couldn't understand what the ''' was going on lol until i read the manual. Maybe the alpine also had that feature.

i guess i never found any thing like that when i was seting that alpine. it wasent a very high end deck ether it didnt even have a HPF on it witch would of really helped with the POS stock highs he had in front and some road master 6x9s in the back. but hey hes happy with the memphis subs i sold him. he had 2 pioneer 12s 350rms ech with the alpine amp i have in my ram now. custom vented box. and he wanted it to hit harder so i told him to buy some memphis Mclass subs witch are rated for 200rms of corse he didnt think he would gain any thing haha. we put them memphis in his car with just a memphis PR class 500watt amp and all he had to say was wow haha he couldnt beleve what a differnce it was just by puting in memphis subs. yea i had a big smile and said told ya so lol
