I never got around to making this box because im lazy and I gave the subs to my eldest brother because he needed some fill in bass for his system in his m3... my older brother gave me 2 10in MTX 9500's... and they are going in my mustang... they were in a ported prefab in the mercedes working off of 400 watts and hit pretty well... I will have pictures of what I have to work with once I get my 1964.5 mustang over here because I moved 100 miles from where I used to live... but later tonight I will have pics of the equipment I have... and maybe we can design a new box.

Okay I never got around to making this box... but now I have a job... a dependable everyday car and I want to make this box for these subs... can anyone confirm that home depot or lowes would actually cut all these pieces for me? even if I have to pay for the extra cuts...

lowes will make all the cuts for you at a charge though. I don't know how much they'll charge but they will do it for you, just bring the cut sheet with you.

okay cool... cause I called and asked a guy at home depot he said they would do a couple free... and charge the rest and I said it would be a good amount of cuts to make a sub box and he said they wont spend too much time doing perfect cuts if I go on a busy day... so I will go to lowes instead. probably get the wood cut on friday put the box together saturday morning... I will log the build even though im kind of cheating.

cool. well i kinda cheated too when i made my new box. I did the box myself but for the cladding i left it in more capable hands. lol

We would love to see how it comes out. post as many pics as possible.

I was going to build that box until... I struck some gold... the mb quart that was supposed to power those subs decided to stop working but then I landed one of these from my brother... http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8653_MTX+Audio+TE1501D+Thunder+Elite+1501D.html which was starting to burn the CV's because birthsheet says 1349watts at 2ohms and 1826 at one ohms... so now I dont know what to go with... I will try to get dimensions but I have the two 10in mtx 9500's that would wire to 1 ohm and I have a 15in Custom sub that is built like an Fi BL which would wire to 2ohm... right now wired to 2ohms my cars electrical can hang but I am going to put a second battery... I dont think the trunk of my 98 m3 has enough room to make a box big enough for either set up... so maybe you guys can help me out.

the subs only burned because of excessive power to the coils...that is a simple fix of turning the gain down.

But with around 1500 watts rms you can have a pretty bangin setup.

Personally I'd to a single sub setup.

they are still knocking right now... I just dont like them as much as I liked the mtx's but I would like the wow factor from having a single 15... I think I have about 4cu.ft to work with... I will take measurements in the morning. the car's electrical consists of a 140amp alt with 0gauge wiring... the biggest autolite battery its like 1300cca and who knows what other stats and I am going to add a an equally big duralast gold... should that be enough to keep the dimming away? I can fold the seats down so I would want to get really creative with the box... amount of bass doesnt matter cause I got enough highs to keep up. so 1 10in 9500 or 1 15in Fi? cause the mtx is actually heavier so im really leaning toward the Fi. idk if 4cu.ft is enough though.

aren't those fi's ib subs? That's what you should do

I sold those IB subs and the guy ended up putting them in a 6cu.ft box tuned to 34hz and they tear up his truck. but I have one more 15in sub that worked better than those. ill have pics of what I have to work with tomorrow.

If you can afford a Sundown Audio Nightshade 15 that mother would pound hard.

Also they only need a 3 cu ft net ported enclosure leaving 1 cu ft port a good amount of port area.
