From what I understood the Akpine came with an extra wire that gets connected to the Battery. The guy at CC told me there is no succh wire but I do need to buy a 10 guage kit that will run tot he battery. Was I misinformed?
Nope they are correct. The amplifier in the Alpine needs a 10 guage kit. I assume that its more powerfull than other HU's internal amplifiers and that it puts out true specs.
I've got another wire run to the battery, but i'm pretty sure it isn't 10 gauge, more like 12 or 14 gauge. I forget now. I haven't had any problems though.
Kenwood, is not as good as Pioneer or Alpine I would put kenwood towards the bottom of my top 10 list I dont know if the 93 needs the extra wire, the 94 does btu I am not sure on the 93, I have to research that as far as the Pioneer increasing bass output, this could be many things i "better" crossover on one of them Time alignments are differant Crossovers set differant I knwo the Pioneer has a lot of Sound processing, and it is HARD to set right for the avg person.... both are good units I would got the one YOU like better, weather that desion is based on price, looks or somthig else, it is YOU that have the use it, you will not go "wrong" with any of them
well puy. I went to CC to get the Alpine Yesterday and I asked for the same $250 price tag the salesman offeed me and the mangaer told me that is a joke and he cant do it. Anyways, Ill be back there on friday and I hope the old salesman is there Happy Holidays
No comment. Have you ever listened to a Pioneer and Alpine side by side? I think you'd like the sound of the Alpine much better, much more transparent. The Pioneer does have the Alpine in the looks category...but that's about it imo. The time correction feature alone blows all the Pioneer's outta the water . Ok, so i did comment...
Does anyone where where I can get a 10 guage kit online? Im going ot retyrn the Walmart kitt too, and buy a kit off www.knukonceptz.com. I did noy see a 10 guage kit on their website

For the bump he went to the Alpine. I felt the unit seemed richer than the Alpine, that seemed kind of... tinny You do like the highs to be a tad more apparent than I do. I am just a mellow dude I guess. You have your time correction centered don't you? the SEFQ on the Pioneer helped me to create the stage hieght you noticed so readily in my car as well. Remember when you didn't believe I had the pillar tweeters disconnected? The stage is at the windshield. I mean I am pretty good, but not that good to do that all manually from the lower door panel area, in a straight fire install. That feature allowed me better aparent stage hieght than I had been able to attain in the "non adjusted" stage setting.
um... $250? I am positive that they won't be able to do that price... legitimately! Certain online retailers that I know of, the DEALER COST on the Alpine is $289-$299... I paid $299 for mine with a big toothy grin... The Pioneer can definitely be had for $250, it's got the price advantage for sure... What swung me over was the CD unit quality, and the phase control circuitry, which would be a toy that I know I would have paid $150 or maybe even $200 or more spontaniously, if I saw it in a standalone device, because you simply can't get them that way..

[/b][/quote] he is talking about the 93 NOT the 94 geo,,,,, and this was suppose to be a "open box" unit and most open box units are sold at cost, which is right at $250 for the 93
Oh oh oh oh oh... that's right! I forgot... Well, in that case, I would get the Pioneer, honestly... I could have gone either way between the Alpine 7894 and the Pioneer... Alpine being slightly nicer, Pioneer no doubt offering the better value... If you take away the MP3 of the Alpine, I would have gone Pioneer for sure... the 7400MP has MP3 and a rather large list of built in features that aren't just swimming dolphin/color display cheese..
I bought the Alpine 7893 Sounds really nice.......I like it. The 740 was a contender and like I said mp3 I can live w/o......I was looking at the 4v preouts. We will see how everything sounds with the subs in place and the 6.5's in the doors
