can a sealed box work well in a hatchbak?

    Really good idea. The ported box will be louder and lower. And with a lot of attention to size and tuning, transient response will be good. Shape doesnt matter too much. But size and tuning does.

    The sealed box will tend to have good transients (sounds like the bass is coming from your front speakers) even if there is an error in box size. Sealed boxes tend to like power where ported are more effecient.

    Again, most people like ported boxes more due to the louder bass.
