I was thinking for the top of the box where the speakers mount, i could maybe put a speaker ring on top of the mdf, then put fiberglass to the edge so it looks like each sub is on a little mountain then paint the box black and have the speakers flush mounted. What do yall think.

first thing first. you have to decide on what subs you'll get in order to have a box designed. RE's are good subs too, you can't go wrong with either of them.

As for speakers in the back, that's totally up to you. it would work but remember, the most important sound is in your front stage, get good speakers there and you won't even have to bother putting speakers in the rear. Remember, a band never plays behind you, always in front of you so that is where you want all of the good sound coming from.

hmmm ive always liked a good rear fill. FILL. not music blaring from behind you. i keep my rears low to add a bit of width and space to my sound stage.
( like 50 per ch is gonna compete with 275 per ch.lol)
when i turn them on it just sounds like your in a bigger venue.

like CC said it is up to you tho.

i converted your dimensions to internal and got ~6cuft gross. 5.84cuft after driver displacement. its up to you as to what you want to use for bracing. you may also want to make a double baffle for the subs.

    5.5-5.8cuft tuned to 35-36hz with a slot port 4"W x 16.5"H x 18" L would devastate.
