    Ok....that makes sense....

    Quick question though.....

Let's say I buy this amp (Rockford) it is rated at bridged RMS @ 4 ohms 400 watts...Does Rockford assume (and take into account) that I am gonna connect driver(s) in a way to present a 4 ohm nominal load? (with the amp only seeing it as 2 ohm, or are they thinking I am gonna present an 8 ohm load which the amp will see as 4?)

I guess it really does not matter....I know that the amp should be fine with my (nominal) impedence of 3 ohms, even though the amp will see 1.5....
Am I over thinking this?.....I just find it interesting.....I love to LEARN...

    I hope so.....,

Just keep this in mind also, Its all fine and dandy to load an amp down hard and make it kick out alot of power, but with that, you also loose some SQ..the dampning factor drops hard core with lower impedances.... thats the amps control over the speakers movement. You also put the amp on the "edge" of destruction....

i am not sure nowadays as to how the amps are rated when it comes to bridging them, but I cant see why it would be any different than the amps of my days

    No...it is the rockford P4002

I don't think any of the Rockford amps are 2 ohm stable bridged
