my port makes it's tuning frequency 31Hz. if you tweak the port it will produce different ranges of frequencies in music.
the easiest way to figure out the dimensions of your trunk is to picture a perfect rectangular prism sitting in it. When measuring Width x Depth x Height you need to use all of the narrowest points of your trunk. I like to find the width first by figuring where I want the back of the box to rest when its installed. Then measure your two narrowest points taking into account slopes and angles. Then so long as that width will fit at all points that I intend the box to sit then I will find the height. Start from the highest point of your trunk floor then measure up to the lowest part of your rear deck or trunk lid. Remember though that your depth will need to vary based on height because the rear of trunk lids slope down thus reducing either one. So go to the point that you measured the width for the back of the box then measure towards yourself until your found height no longer fits. I tend to back off a couple inches to ensure clearance all around. Also make sure that your desired height fits within your desired width. All of the dimensions play off of each other so just keep measuring until you find something that works. You also don't want your subs too close to the rear of the trunk. Post your dimensions and we can calculate the internal volume and figure out the best sub configuration.
hey i've done plenty of rip your face off loud trunk systems. out of curiosity jonny what volume do you have for each sub?
1.5cuft i know it would be better if it was 2 but i cant fit it in there. im thinkin of building a more efficient box for 3 of them. would that be louder then the 4 in that box? i would have to wire them at 2.67 Ohms and idk how much power that would give me.
well as long as your power is still on par then you should be able to dig deeper by providing a large enclosure for each driver. I did a 2.75cuft per sub box a while back for 12s. tuned it to 31hz and i've never seen windows flex like they did. the front windows when cracked literally moved a 1/4".
