nice work...only if I could get any other family members into the audio world.
if it is a bazooka tube don't worry at all...they will play all day for years as long as you take care
most drivers will take up .1 cu ft or less unless they have a huge 50lb motor or more.
ported will still have excellent SQ. 1.5 cu ft tuned to 33Hz with a 3" round port 10" long
3.5 cu ft...can you find any 6" diameter PVC piping??
I never find any plans...I design them.
Before you upgrade anything components. Upgrade your enclosure if you haven't already.
they don't just replace the spider...they replace all the soft parts. Each spider costs about 5-10 dollars. I would jump on this if I...
if the spider is shot the sub needs a whole new recone.
if you do use a 3" port a simple 1/2" round over bit on some end caps would make some simple aeros.
plans are free...why not just build.
I wouldn't go with the recommended...I would go larger...around 1.5-1.75 cu ft net.
I would never buy the enclosures from MTX. They are prefab...too small. Tuning is unknown. They don't sound all that great. I've heard their...
how long depends on where you want to tune it at and how much port area vs net volume.
Subwoofers are only as good as the enclosure they are in. Just know that if you buy prefab it is a shot in the dark.
that would work...but the 4th order would be 5 cu ft net (both chambers) using two 6" round ports.
geolemon, two 3" round ports do not have the same area as a 6" round port. Technically two 4.2" diameter ports would be needed to T off the 6" port.
I only suggested different subwoofers because MTX is trying too hard. But can you build your own enclosure??
I would suggest a different subwoofer.
Ranger those are the newer model ones similar to your son's correct?
