no subwoofers are more efficiant in a ported enclosure! the smaler the box the more power u need the larger the box the less power u will need
paint will not affect it whatsoever! if its a paper cone it will dampen up a little bit but other wise no!

not big on 8's man! i use 8's in sq installs, i use 15's and 18's for spl. when i owned my shop i did alot of 12's and 15's and sometimes an 18....
well i dont see 1 or 2 8's putting up the number's i want. now 2 15's thats a different story in which i think i am getting 2 planet audio torq 15's!

if your going ported i suggest a 1.5 cubic ft enclosure tuned to 35 hz! if u dont like that idea try 2 cubic ft tuned to 35 hz!
