I was working on my box designing skills out and came up with this. I believe it is ABOUT 4.5 after port displacement and tuned to ABOUT 28Hz. What do you guys think of it?

Box designers: Is the port area too much? I don't want it too big do I? Because if it is, then the woofers wont be able to load it, right? I'm not for sure on that, its just something i thought i heard.

also, i found this strange. i used an online bandpass calculator and i entere the parameters for my 13kv.2 and this is what i got as results. wierd??

Lower 3db Rolloff: 25.00 Hz (F3 Provided by user)
High 3db Rolloff: 91.30 Hz (Calculated)

    Sealed Box: 1.45 cubic feet
    = 2509.34 cubic inches
    = 41.13 liters

    Ported Box: 0.79 cubic feet
    = 1367.47 cubic inches
    = 22.41 liters

    Tuning Frequency: 47.78 Hz

i like the looks of that box. does it matter were the subs sit? i mean what if you had them closer to the port so they load the same.

have you ever tried to kerf cut?

What do you guys think of the IA 187's? I was thinking of purchasing 4 of the 12" versions and powering them off a Audiopipe 30001D. I heard that at 750RMS they really shine.

Im also open to any other suggestions of subs that will work good in my application.

Also, what happened to Mach 5 Audio? Are they still going to continue to sell equipment?

    Thanks guys.

i was looking at them too, but isnt 750 rms too much for them? i mean they are rated at 300 rms.

i read somewhere that a guy did testing and you need to ATLEAST double the RMS. At 750 each they really shined.

Power handling is insanely underrated. 300 watts is childs play to these subs. With a small sealed enclosure, you could easily attach one to between 800 and 1000 watts RMS. Trying this is your own risk, don't complain to me if you kill one. I have run mine with 250, 350, and 750 watts RMS to each sub. At 250, they'll get loud, but not much for DD volume levels. 350 is an improvement. At 750 they shine. To say the least, you'll need at least double their recommended power rating to see what these subs are capable of.

i should ask my bud robin. he runs IA and is sponsered and would deff know the answer.

he gave me a good price on 2 of the 15's once. maybe 3 10's in my truck will pound nicely on the 1900 watt amp i plan to buy.

its going to be a DB drive amp..thier 1900 watt mono amp. hope it does close to that.

the 187's will work ,but the power should be kept near the rms. my bud said 750 each would fry them.

the mack5's i hear are low end monsters. did you see the rec tuning....15HZ!! wow that would kill the lows.
