I recently got a bazooka ELA150.1 amp from a friend of mine. it's a long story, but basically i want to hook it up with the stereo in my bedroom to a sub i got. i'm kinda a newbie when it comes to car adio components so could somebody explain how i should wire everything to the home components? Thanks!

First you need a switching power supply...one that'll put out around 40 or more amps constant...then just wire up the rcas and power and ground...remote wire you can just hook to the power supplies positive...just turn the power supply on and it will power the amp and turn it on also.

i have an old adapter from an electric keyboard, it puts out 12 volts but only 300 mA. i tried using that but i guess it didn't have enough amps. what are the specs of an adapter i need. like as far as volt and amp output. or better yet, do you know of one that would work?

then would i just splice the cable from like positive and negitive, attach the positive to the regular place and the remote, and then just ground it?

That won't work...you need an actually power supply...they put out 13.8 volts and can range from 1 amp to over one hundred amps...300ma is not even enough power to run a head unit.

I have a 25 amp power supply from radio shack that I use to run my Alpine head unit from my truck since I got a new deck...I just built a box that holds the deck in the center and two 5.25 inch speakers on each side...sounds nice for what it is.

Just go to ebay or to a google search for "power supply"

the amp is pretty small so how many amps would it need. i know you said 40 before but a power supply that puts out 40 amps constant runs like $150 which is way more than my friend even paid for the amp itself

Well thats what you need if you want to use it...I had a Bazooka CS150.1 last year...well I think the fuse in the amp is like 25-30 amps correct??

Amplifiers require lots of power...still the only way is to get a power supply...30-40 amps constant or more...the more the better....look on ebay...you may find some good deals...just be careful of who you buy from.

the fuse is 20, i don't know if that changes anything. how many volts output would it need? also is there a way i could plug it into the wall and just convert it to DC because the AC coming out of the wall should have enough power shouldn't it?

A power supply put outs 13.8 volts at whatever amp rate you get...and yes it converts it to dc also...and it plugs into the wall.

yes i understand that, but what amount of amps does the amplifier need to run?

Depends on the impedance load and power it is going to put out...I know what you are trying to say...The amp will pull around 15 amps normally at 2 ohms and at max I'm not sure...but to be sure you will need a power supply rated at 30-40 amps constant...just for sure...cuz if the amp suddenly pulls to much you'll have to reset the power supply...I tried hooking up a little amp to my 25 amp power supply and hooked it up to some speakers and it kept blowing the internal circuit breaker.

The first one isn't what you need...the second would do.
