im hooking up a zx1000.1 i have a ran of 4g with a spilter with 8g to a sony 600watt amp if the run of wire is less then 20" could I use a ran of 8g off the sliper or should i ran it on its own power wire form the battery with a 0g wire kit i want to get out cheap but i still want to do it right
have you looked into welding wire? i heard its very inexpensive and works well. do a 0 gauge run to the back then split that to your amps.
yes we are using 2g welding wire from battery to battery in the truck and then a ran of 0g gauge back to the amps...even with only 1600 watts peak i should still run 0g
well the bigger the better ,but then i think 4 gauge should do fine then if money is tight. i only run 4 gauge and have 7 ch's of power with around 1400 watts rms give or take, and only one batt and the stock 105 amp alt. so then 4 should be fine i think or 2 runs of 4 if you have extra.
i can go bigger later but for the next two weeks its going to be alittle tight im tring to build a race car and this setup and thinking of redoing the truck
