Will this work, and proper hook up?

I have an 04 model Kicker Solo Baric L7 12". My amp finally gave out on me. A friend of mine gave me an amp that he had and is no longer using. My question is will it power my sub properly, and what the best way to hook it up. The amp is a sony explode xm-7547. 4 channel. and will only be hooked up to 1 sub.

should I wire it into A + & B- or C+ & D-? I've only had mono amps before so this 4 channel is a little new to me. That and i've not had much experience with car audio.

    Thanks.

    whats the impedance?

if its dual 4 ohm and you have a digital volt meter(to level match).you can bridge it and run one coil per amp channel.

or just run it in stereo off of one set of channels, and leave the other 2 unused.

OH! Ok, that makes sense. Why do I need a digital volt meter?

the meter is to make sure that both channels are putting out the same power.

set it to measure voltage out of the speaker out from the amp.

you dont want uneven power running to your sub.

How do I go about doing that?

An amp puts out AC voltage...just set the gains so each coil is getting the same voltage...use a test tone
