SO I JUST bought a Memphis 16-MCA2004 off ebay not knowing it was a speaker amp until i already bought it and he already shipped it. so i was wondering will it work to push my two memphis tens? i have a alpine head unit with the following rca inputs

    >front
    >rear
    >subwoofer.

Well that amp is 4 channel and its bridged power is 150 watts @ 2ohms, if your subs are single 4 ohm coil it will work but it wont be much power.

Yeah it will, just use the LPF when tuning to get the right sub notes.

Yeah you'll need dual 2 or single 4 in order to get the most power by bridging a set of channels.

you can always keep it for the front and rear speakres and buy a sub amp.

oh yes and also if i do just wire this one up for my speakers (2 in front 2 in back of car 4 total) will that make them sound better? i dont see an advantage to that because it seems like my deck powers them just fine.. but then again i am a noob when it comes to this stuff.

What voice coil configuration are your subs?

As to powering the door speakers off the amp it depends. If the speakers are factory then it would be pointless. If they are aftermarket then it would be a very noticeable difference, it would be much louder and clearer at a lower deck volume and you would have better midbass. Just depends on your situation.

i mostly care about getting my subs moving because my speakers sound just fine... maybe an upgrade later but right now i think my subs are my priority.
