Hey everyone got a question about which adapter should I use.

I have a 2007 Chevy Silverado with the factory radio and an amp with a 10" sub thats connected with a Line Output Level Converter. Im looking to replace the factory radio with a Pioneer unit. Can I remove the Line Output Level Converter and use the rca jacks on the back of the new radio ?

I also have Onstar which I would like to keep , Im looking at 2 different adapters the first one is the 120OSLAN01 http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120OSLAN01/GM-Factory-Integration-Adapter.html
I have been reading about this adapter and looks like some people are having to add another speaker to use the Onstar and be able to hear the door chime. Is this because they are running an amp to the front speakers ?

The second one Im looking at is the OS-3
http://www.pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=160&CategoryID=26 This one seems to have all of the stuff to be able to keep Onstar and hear the door chime and the turn signals. But is it for people who have an amp hooked to there front speakers ?

So the question is which one would be best for me?

    Thanks
    Ken

I've used both adapters and both work well. However, I do prefer the PAC-Audio part. And if I remember right, you can use an amp with the PAC part. Run the front speaker wires to the PAC adapter and wire it in according to the instructions. The PAC adapter uses a relay to switch sources.

You might wanna call PAC and see if there is a watts limit on their adapter.
