Wats up? My name is Travis. I live in myrtle beach south carolina. I drive a 1999 jeep cherokee and i am pretty interested in car audio. This past christmas i got 2 Rockford Fosgate p3 12's and now im in the process of getting an amplifier and getting a box. What do you all think of the Rockford p3? Anything i should know about rockford products? :)

Hello Jeep....welcome aboard!! (Viking I am taking your line haha)

Well I don't recommend most prefab boxes unless they are sealed boxes...those you can get away with...prefab ported and bandpass enclosures are crap...everyone else here will say the same

The only prefab boxes I would recommend would be proboxes.

The Rockford P3s?? They can get loud and sound alright. But I don't recommend them...why???

Because from my experiences they are overpriced, poor quality for the money you pay, the dustcaps are made of brittle plastic, and they are overpriced...did I say that one already...this goes for their whole Punch line of subs...their higher end Power series subs are good though.

I like their amplifiers...Good power, But overpriced IMO

But since you got them for christmas we can work with them.

How much money do you wanna spend on an amplifier???

Do you have the tools and can you build your own enclosure???

    What vehicle do you have??

Are you looking to upgrade your other speakers??

And the most important...what kind of bass do you want??

rockford subs.. yeah.. they pretty much will fall apart pretty quickly. Not a very durable or dependable sub.

To make em sound good though.. its alllll about the install. Build a box to spec and you should be all good.

Let me know if you need any help shopping for products i don't mind finding stuff out there in your price range.

    Welcome Jeep!!!

The key element in getting those subs to perform right is in the box! Even cheap flea market subs for 20 bucks can sound good in the right box!

You will be fine with the RF's for a while...just treat them with respect and they should perform well for a long time.
