I am thinking of purchasing the following setup for my car. Please tell me what you think. If you have any suggested changes please let me know (again all products must come from Best Buy) (2) Infinity 12" Dual-Voice-Coil 8-Ohm Subwoofer http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7730155&type=product&id=1140392384210 (2) Infinity Reference 6" x 8" 2-Way Car Speaker with Plus One Polypropylene Cone (Pair) http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7730182&type=product&id=1140392384390 now for the sub, I only wish to power the subs, (car has a factory amp for speakers that I'm going to leave in there). Do I need to purchase two mono amps or can I buy this amp? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7730137&type=product&id=1140392384101 Any and all comments are appreciated.
I have an infinity setup and I like it a lot. I think they sound real good for the price. Now for the amp, you should get a mono block and hook it up to the subs. Just make sure the RMS's match up closely, and don't forget the Ohms too
I like infinty stuff, too.. and ASB, MTX subs are great, and I like the amp, too, but not for subs.. that amp is designed for running door speaks and components.. I'd get a mono or 2ch amp for the subs, and you can get more power for 300 dollars. there are some decent amps cheap at overstock http://www.overstock.com/?PAGE=CATLIST&PRO_SUB_CAT=810&PRO_SSUB_CAT=2342
I agree, not the amp you are looking for. Would work better for highs like was said previously. monoblocks are a nice cheap fix if you don't mind the horrible damping factor. if you were to spend $300 and not buy used, american bass makes some big power for cheap, maybe look that way.
