Its been a while since I have been into car audio so I would like to get some Ideas before I go through with this. I'm looking at buying two Hifonics ZXi150.4 amps. They are rated at 150x4 at 4 0hms and 600x2 bridged at 4 ohms here is the web site. http://www.hifonics.com/Hifonics_Zeus_ZXi_Amps.html So I am thinking about pushing the first amp at 4x150 for my front components and my rear deck components. For the other amp I want to make it a 3 channel and push 2x150 for for my mid woofers I am going to put in the rear doors and 1x 600 for a 12" sub. I know I have heard a lot of mixed feelings about Hifonics. I have ran them in the passed with no problems has anyone had any recent experiences? And what do you think of this set up? Any input is greatly appreciated.
The only problem I've heard of is running them at a 1ohm load, they sometime go into protect mode and never come out.I had a hifonics amp and had no problems with that.
Ive had 2 hifonics amps, didn't have them long enough to go into the "one ohm load protect" but i always hated those amps. They are good for the money though.. Another thing they only do 70-80% real power, there ratings are overrated
I am old school, back in the day, 15-20 years ago they performed great! Ran hot, took abuse and we sold the hell out of them to foilks we knew were not kind to amps ( call it racial profiling if you will, of the music and amp kind) Dont know about them today, but i will say this....set up as you want, should make for a great sound sytem. Just give them the current they need and the respect they want and you will be fine i suspect
Ive heard the old hifonics were pretty good quality aswell, dont have any personal experiences with the old ones The amps i was talking about were the 2009 version
I've only ever heard great things about Hifonics.. Cheap amps that do the job.. And only 70 or 80 percent of rated? Hmmm... I've never heard that.. In fact, all I've really ever heard were them pushing out a lil more than rated.. But, maybe those were the older ones that Viking were talkin about.. But either way, I think you could purchase a Hifonics and be confident in it...
