So I ride this guy car few months ago and when he turned on the music, I can feel a my chest shaking/thumping along with the bass. I don't know him so well (meet in a pool hall) and doesn't have his phone number, so I can't call and ask. What actually makes that thump effect? Do I need high RMS or do I need low Frequency? Do I need to crank the volume high to feel it (would it be possible if to make it not loud and deep)? I'm planning to get shallow sub if I could (Pioneer Premier or Rockford Fosgate P3). They have about 300 RMS and 20 - 290 Hz Frequency. Would that be enough? If that's not enough I'm willing to sacrifice my trunk space for that awesome feeling! I can get JL 500w amp and JL 10w6. If this still not enough, then I can't afford that awesome feeling Anyway, I'm looking for 10" subs because produce tighter bass. Would appreciate any help. Thanks.
welcome. any good sub of any size can produce nice tight bass. ive had nice chest thumping bass with 4 8's and 500 watts. if your enclosure is built properly a good sub on moderate power can give you what you want. it depends on your wallet.
