I think ive decided to get 2 RE se12s and build a custom ported box for them. What kind of amp do yall recommend me getting? I am kind of on a budget also, but i want it to be LOUD.

are they dual 4 ohm coils or just single 4 ohm coils?

1 nine.1 should be plenty. what is your budget for an amp?

They are dual 4 ohm. I am looking to spend less then $1000 for amp and subs. Are the US exterminator 4000d amps any good?

oldschool US amps is what you should be looking into. but if you were to wire your subs down to 1ohm on a nine.1 then you would be set. but that would probably require an extra battery and all 0 gauge including the big3.

G3, that depends on the car he has for the extra battery. x2 on wiring them to 1ohm, big three and the 0ga wires.

NINe.1 puts out 1200watts at 1ohm at 12.5 volts. if your electrical is up to speed and your running 14.4 volts them the NINe.1 will prolly put out more like 1500watts.

Elemental makes some solid stuff. the NINe.1 is one hell of an amp.

Well, my truck is a 2000 ford ranger. I dont think it quite gets 14.5 volts, but i can get another battery if needed.

well would you happen to have a DMM? I can almost guarantee that you will have a large voltage drop if the nine.1 is running at 1 ohm. You'll want to perform the big 3 upgrade for the sake of your trucks electrical system.

You'll want to use all 0 gauge so heres an amp kit that I've had experience with and it worked excellent. Select the 150 amp fuse if you'll only be using the nine.1

As for your wire you should get between 10-15feet of more 0 gauge.

You'll need six of these but I would get one or two extra just in case u feel like upgrading another wire or you mess one up.

Also what battery do you have?

When my current system is sold, ive decided to get 2 RE SX 12s with a Hifonics 2000 watt amp and put these in a box that is about 1.75 cb ft tuned to 35 hz.

well in the case you'll still want to do the same wire upgrades i suggested along with an extra battery. and i hope thats per chamber.

i like to stay around 4-5 cubes for 2 subs.

Yea i will be getting the 0 gauge amp kit and yes that is per chamber so around 3.50 for the whole box. Will this be a good set up?

what are your goals sound wise? do you want a daily driver meaning it will be loud at most frequencies or do you want something that hits highs loud or something that can pound out some serious lows?
