my friends Audi has a Volt gauge and has subs too. I want one for my car. simple question.. Is it just a simple google search away? or is there something more complicated about them. Let me know, since I alread did the google search. lol thanks guys!
Hey, isnt ibanez a guitar? A volt gauge should be as simple as it gets. Everyone makes one. Stewart-Warner, Autometer just to mention a couple. And it should be a simple 2 or 3 wire hookup depending on the type of gauge.
Yep, Ibanez is a guitar, one of the first ones I've ever owned.. good eye man, good eye. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. I like having control over my system because with every dollar I put into it, it gets more and more crazy. thanks again, I'm gunna go buy the gauge.. yet, to mount it, I like the double pods more than the single pods. So what's the next "important" guage that I should put in? be it for audio or not. thanks!
Maybe one of those watt gauges on some really old home stereo amps?? lol I really can't think of another gauge for audio...isn't much besides voltage....maybe a heat gauge for the amp?
Definately a heat gauge. That would be cool. But what about an amp gauge? That way you will know if your charging or discharging your battery. I have a B C Rich Bich. Used to play alot, don't have time any more.
Ranger...could you hook up an amp gauge somehow to show how much current is being pulled during music playing?
lol....i was thinking the same thing...BUT!! Taking from www.dictionary.com http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ammeter am·me·ter Audio pronunciation of "ammeter" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (mmtr) n. An instrument that measures electric current in amperes.
HA!, who knew? so it's not called a "amp" meter? ps. that would explain my lame google search for such a product!
Sorry I'm Bad An ammeter has to be hooked in line, so I don't think we should use one just for our amp current. I really don't see putting a gauge in line on our 8ga or 4ga wire as this could cause a problem. Unless we can locate one with an inductive pick up, that might work.
oo, damn, so then wha'ts the next option? I still need another gauge. I don't even care if it's audio related anymore.
Eh...should be that hard....Says it comes with a harness...and its only a meter....I bet hooking up an amp and sub combo is more difficult than this.
a good ammeter will be unnoticeable to your electrical system, they really don't take much power at all. gotta wire this between batt and amp, not between amp and sub.. Just be sure to get one that's rated correctly (maybe twice what your amp pulls.) or you'll be a catchin that pod on fire! btw.. ranger, that is a nice temp guage, I really like the blue led display..
Amps run pretty warm, I think a temp gauge would be neat. I just don't see a place for one in my truck.
