I've been thinking of something to do with my buyout PL 7's, and I've come up with an interesting 6th order bandpass sub fooling around in winisd. Rear Chamber = 1.1 cubes @ 23 hz Front Chamber = .5 cubes @ 63 hz Specs: Fs: 38.33 Hz Re: 3.0 Ohms Qms: 2.63 Qes: .35 Qts: .31 Vas: 19.42 L Mms: 19.9 g Bl: 6.41 Xmax: 4.5mm Any thoughts? I really need to know how to actually build/align everything. Should the ports be the same size? How close should they be? etc...
They'll slam for a little bit, but then they'll just run out of room. My friend has two of the PL 8" mids that he ported in the back of his Firebird just to experiment with and they're pretty impressive for a pair of $25 8's. His 8's do very well...but only up to a certain point at which they start bottoming out. It should be a neat experiment though.
Anybody feel like helping me design the box shape? I'd like to get it around 10" x 10" and max width is around 48". Could be taller, it's in the back of a slightly extended cab truck, but I'd rather have width that height.
