Ok, I've been gone awhile for many reasons. But, I'm running 2 12" Infinity Reference 1252w on a Kicker 750.1 ZX. Ok my problem is I have my gains down on my amp and my deck but when I turn it up past halfway and my subs hit they just kinda puss out and don't hit all the way. Just a half ass hit, but if I lower the volume a bit they hit and hit and hit. I have them running 2ohm if that helps any, but I want them to be louder! Help!
4 gauge ground and I think 8 gauge power, I know they are supposed to be the same but I didn't have any 4 gauge with me when I ran my wiring. So the amp is trying to draw to much to make the subs louder?
all i can say is maybe.i posted the same thing some days ago.a friend of mine has a hifonics 1600 watt brutis with 8 gauge going to it.when he cranks the bass his amp shuts down.could be the same.
I don't know if thats the problem, but I wouldn't use anything smaller than 4 gauge for that amp. That and maybe your battery is dieing. find someone with a voltage gauge. see if there is a big drop. or.. just... get.. a . JL AMP! R.I.P.S! look it up man! No matter how your battery is performing... the amp still pumps out the RMS wattage. with true wattage.
I used to have a 500/1. loved it, but I sold it. Now I'm running a 750.1 Kicker amp. and it's the only amp that cuts out my WHOLE system when I turn it past 25 volume. If I turn the car off and then back on, the sound comes back. very weird.
honostly you want 4ga wire. I don't think that 8ga is going to enjoy trying to supply that much current to these subs. You are probably experiencing voltage drop when you try to get them to hit hard.
Well when I get my truck this fall I'm going all JL in it, I can sell this Kicker for prolly double what I paid for it
