After installing my 6x9s i just noticed that the tension bar is rubbing a bit on the bottom of the magnet ( it only rubs on the left speaker) The magnet is shielded by a rubber gasket thats wrapped over the entire piece. If i put a spacer under the speaker the rear deck lid may not sit flat and the holding pins wont snap down. Will any damage happen to the speaker if I leave as is? The speaker terminals are free and clear. I was worried that should something happen and the tension bar touches the magnet that the speaker may short out.

I had the same issue in one of my cars years ago. A slight rub against the magnet. I never had any issues.

Whatever you do, don't try to take the bar out :)

Those things are under extreme tension. I actually had to put one back in that another shop removed. I made a special tool and did it by hand. Wasn't easy.
