torn rubber on a subwoofer, able to fix or lost money??

    opened my trunk a few days back and discovered my 10 inch mtx 9500 has a tear in the rubber part, surprised i couldn't notice a difference i the sound of it.... question is can it be repaired? and will it ACTUALLY hold? im aware of the epoxy method but cant really imagine how it would go on or stay on with the amount of wattage i put to that speaker.
