    Well...

I am getting closer to getting all my ducks in a row to install my system and I have a question....

My front and rear speakers are going to be Infinity Reference...Seperates in the front (6.5" woof) and 4x6 in the rear.....I could do it two different ways..

I could use the Blaupunkt amp (4 chan) to run fronts and rears.....OR....
I could run the rears off of the HU and make the 4 channel amp into a bigger two channel amp to run the fronts...Since the rears are gonna basically be fill and not as much wattage needed....

HU is gonna be the Eclipse CD3000

What are the thoughts on this?? Which way would you do it???

Definitely use the amp in four channel mode, one for each speaker..

if you amplify the fronts, and run the backs straight off of the hu, you'll hate the uneven sound you get..

that hu has good power, though.. you might try it without the amp first, and then connect the amp later, if you feel it is necessary.

I'm very impressed with my eclipse.

Right now I am running the stock speakers with my JVC HU....The right front sounds a little funky and the right rear is very fuzzy....I have the fader on full front and I am using two channels bridged on the blaupunkt to run the sub...I have a very good front image and really pretty decent sound....People ask me why I want to replace the speakers cause it sounds excellent....I know better.....I do not really even miss the rear speakers not active right now...

My thought was two powerful channels will get me a little more volume but more importantly it will increase the dynamic range of the front stage...I prefer to have the majority of the sounds coming from front, so I figured why waste amp power on the rears....The HU (Eclipse) will have the ability to high pass the rears so they are gonna basically be mid/upper fill.....

This was my thought anyway...Figured improving the front stage sound and dynamic range would be a better way to go....

Gotta disagree with ya Hautewheelr, Like Willy said in his last post, more power means more dynamic range and an easier time for the front end to keep up with the boom boom in the back. Ideally you want just as much power going to your highs as you do you subs, and actually more in SOME cases............Run the amp in 2 channel mode on your front end i say.....The rears, yep, deck power for a little fill if you really think you need, well at least rear fill lets the folks in the back seat hear a little of what they are singing about....

yup i say do the 2 ch set up.i did that to mine and made a world of diffrence...but i do have an amp on my rears.just as fill though.

mine goes like this 160x2 up front.50x2 rear.245x1sub.

oh viking i got that eq/crossover in and it sounds the same as the built in eq on the radio.so i took it out.

Yeah...that is definitely what I am going to do....I am gonna run my frt. stage off the outboard amp and rear fill from the HU.....Hell my factory seperates in the front fill this truck with good sound and they really don't even sound that great....

The outboard should give me around 100 rms per side in the front and the sub should get about 900 rms......

That should be pretty decent for what I am after....

    GOOD CLEAN FUN!!!!
