Okay, so I go to one stereo place, and they are all into Alpine decks, and RF amps, and they tell you about (and maybe even give you an in-car demo) of this stuff and your just really impressed. So, you go to another place, and they are completely down on Alpine decks, or RF amps, but they tell you (and again, maybe even demo for you) some absolutely slamming equipment from Kenwood, or Orion, or JL Audio. Oh.... and the first place is into ported and tuned boxes all the way. So about the time your sure that's what your going to do, you walk into the next place, that loves sealed boxes, and if you listen to them, you start to think a ported box is a mistake ??? The whole thing reminds me of how when you walk into a Ford dealership, you have to listen to how bad Chevy's and Toyota's are, or vica-versa. Anyway, as if car audio choices are not freaking overwhelming enough as it is, but then you have to sort through 9000 opinions which often vary about 180 freaking degrees ! Urgggg..... Oh well. I think I made it clear enough today, that I will end up bringing this one local stereo install place, quite a bit of "gray' equipment.... since it's just about all I can afford..... and, that I'll be using some 12" subs that no place around here has apparently ever heard of {ED 13Kv.2's} in a box, that "I built myself"..... because 1) I know how to do this also, and 2) I can't afford to have one built for me. It's obvious they'd rather sell me everything I put in my truck..... But they'd rather install the stuff I bring them, than to not get any $$$ from me at all.... Hmmmm...... Well, that about sums up my days off this week. Peace, Fish
